A House for the Public

If you are mad for mid century modern architecture and decor, you'll appreciate Sunnylands, a pure modernist estate built in the mid-60's by Walter and Leonore Annenberg.  Located in Rancho Mirage, California, the historic estate is open to the public for tours. You will need a reservation to go inside the home. http://www.sunnylands.org/

I recently toured Sunnyland and drooled over the interiors, designed by William Haines and Ted Graber. They're known for decorating the Reagan White House and popularizing the Hollywood Regency Style, the #1 favorite style of  www.tonichome.com. Can't you just can picture the lavish gatherings at the estate with all the famous entertainers and politicians of the day? The place has a private 9 hole golf course and lush gardens.  Living large in the 60's, could there be anything better?

Enjoy...
