Hotel Murano - Adam and Viktoria

Need weekend plans? Check out Hotel Murano in Tacoma, Washington.
Of course, we are drawn to the fabulous Adam & Viktoria pillows featured in every one of their guest rooms. What great style! Modern design and comfortable looking, this hotel is on my list of places to check out.
Classic Turkish Design above in shades of blue and brown really pop against the white bedding and headboard.
The velvet and linen designs make a room come alive. Take a look at the ones above with those vibrant solid colored lamps that bring it all together.

Annechovie and Artist Anne Harwell

If you are in the market for some really great artwork, you have to checkout Anne Harwell and her site on Etsy. She really has some interesting designs of home related products. Also, a must read is her blog, Annechovie. I enjoyed her post today about the painting she recently did of the Swann House in Atlanta.
Below are some of my personal favorites that are for sales on her Etsy site. The prices can't be beat - $20 each!
Anne has been featured in Domino Magazine and numerous other blogs out there. She also takes commissions for painting of your personal favorites. Contact her at anneharwell@hotmail.com for your own design.

You Make My Day Award

Tonic Home was delighted to be recently honored with the "You Make My Day Award" from Topsy Turvy. What a wonderful and thoughtful award. Lana has really amazing photos on her blog that always make my day, so be sure to check out her blog.
So The Rules of "You Make My Day" award are this:
1. Write a post with the links to 5 blogs that "make your day".
2. Acknowledge the post of the award giver.
3. Tell the award winners they won by commenting on their blogs.

***
While there are so many amazing posts out there, the ones below are truly my favorites. I will share with you briefly why they inspire and make my day.

Decor8 - Near and dear to the hearts of Tonic Home founders, Decor8 was the first blog to ever post about Tonic Home. Holly's blog is fresh and never short of unique posts with an international feel here and there.
IttyBittyLadybug - Great friend with so much creativity. Her site has the very best picks for the little ones and her blog will give you all the info on what is the latest and greatest. Take a look, you'll be hooked!
Deana's Dish on Modern Mums - Deana picks her favorite "must have's" for the busy Mom. She makes life easier for all of us and writes blogs that have me thinking "that sounds so much like what my kids do".
Blink Decor - Packed full of information, this blog covers everything from renovating your home to where to go when you are ready to decorate. Great source for inspiration.
The Peak of Chic -Really enjoy Jennifer and what she has to say. Source out of Atlanta, Georgia is a personal favorite from my hometown.

Door handles are like jewelry

Look how cool these door handles are! I really love them, only I don't remember what magazine I tore this page out of. But it just goes to show how much of a transformation you can get with an accessory. Just like the jewelry we wear, door handles can do the same for a simple door. Here we have a plain white door with no design whatsoever, and then these fabulous oversized rectangular shaped jewels are just tempting us to open them.
If anyone knows where to purchase these, I would love to know!

Photos - Historic Hyde Park Home Tour

What a wonderful day for the Home Tour! The day was beautiful and so were the homes. Exciting for me, was to meet a fellow blogger. I was able to meet up with Lana from Topsy Turvy Blog and we had a wonderful time!

Taken in the back of one of the homes on the tour.
Very traditional and georgous dining room in the Ferman home. Deep orange shade of the linen wallpaper was great contrast to the white moulding and walls.
Fountain courtyard outside the Ferman home. Love the simplicity of this space with an historic nod. Beautiful pool at the Ferman house. Brick surround and enormous fountain felt like we were at a spa.
Bed made up with our favorite fabric from Town Toiles. Check to see if your city has it's own fabric and wallpaper.
Here is the Tampa fabric from Town Toile. Many other color ways exist and they are so fun!
Great bathroom tile in shades of gray. Love it!
Yes, I'll take a cocktail or two.
