Romantic Mirrors

I was just reading one of my favorite blogs the other day called Dose of Design.
They did an interesting article about "romantic mirrors" and their allure. I had to piggy-back on that article a bit, because I too really love these types of mirrors. You really can't just walk by them without stopping to admire their beauty. In fact, they are so interesting, you sometimes forget to actually look in the mirror!
Here are a few of my favorite at Tonic Home.

Venetian Mirror is always a classic.
Gold Venetian Mirror is modern with an edge.
Rococo in White looks like cake frosting!
Black Venetian is very dramatic.
Corner of the Hand Cut Glass Mirror shows the details of each specifically shaped mirror piece. The amount of detail in this mirror is breathtaking.
Reflection is a bonus with these pieces of wall art.

Oliver Ottomon in faux zebra hide fits right in & becomes a foot rest or holder for beverages. Any way you look at it, Oly creates memorable furniture that is solid and quality. Modern Mums

I''ve recently come across a wonderful site that must be shared, called Modern Mums.

Love their tagline - "progressive parenting for modern moms". Now that speaks to me.

Take a look at "Deana's Dish" - a new blog on the site that gives tips on everything from where to get the "best chocolate chip cookies" to where to get the "best jeans", and most importantly, where to go for the "best in decorating". Her first blog lists none other than Tonic Home as a home furnishing source that puts a smile on her face. Thanks Deana! Such a complement.
So in the spirit of giving "modern mums" tips on easy decorating, here is my first suggestion. You must have one of these delightful metal pieces for your wall.
That's right - it is a wall photo/card holder for all of those birth announcements, wedding announcements, birthday party invites, photos of everyone's kids, you get the point....Stylish and surely beats the boring bulletin board, right! Only $25 - can't go wrong with that.

City Lights in The New York Times

"They come bearing light" - that is the tagline today in the Personal Shopper section (by Marianne Rohrlich) of The New York Times. Tonic Home saw these extremely cool and hip lights this past week at The Atlanta Gift Market and snatched them right up.
Made of corrugated plastic, the City Honeycombed Light in White is a new take on the traditional chandelier.
Photo from the Lazy Susan USA showroom, shows the light that permeates through the structural drum fixture. Available in 3 sizes and sold here at www.tonichome.com.

News from Market

What is hot in Atlanta? So much!
We are searching to find all of the latest and greatest to bring back to Tonic Home shoppers. We had the most fun in one of our favorite showrooms, Worlds Away. Pictured below is "Lucy with the Lucy".
That's right, owner Lucy is pictured with her namesake addition, the Lucy Antiqued Mirrored Chest. It's even better in person that we could imagine!
Tonic Home Co-Owner Wendy Garraty with Neal Edwards of Worlds Away - a truly fabulous representative of a hip and cutting edge company. Be sure to check out all the new items.

Bay Window Dilema

For those who have spent hours trying to find a unique design for that "bay window", this one certainly made me look twice. Isn't this fabulous! Love the design, love the fabric, love the black border snug to the ceiling. I've been working with a dear client and friend on her home and we've just had the discussion on what to do with her bay window. This certainly gives me inspiration!
I must thank my friend over at Girl Meets Glamour Blog for finding this picture. Kate always has great articles that I read quite regularly. She offers that her blog is an outlet for her "home decor addiction". We can certainly understand that one!

Te Casan Shoe Store

Not that we need any reason to shop for shoes, but if you did, this would work. Check out Te Casan in New York. Of course the shoes are to die for, but what I love is the design in the store. Look at this staircase!

I was reminded of this beautiful boutique recently and had to share. Next time you are in New York, you must check it out.

Given Campbell Wallpaper

For anyone not familiar with Given Campbell and her wallpaper design studio, you will surely thank us! Check out her website www.givencampbell.com to see her latest creations. Of course, she's a wiz at custom requests as well.
The example shown here is just a taste of what she has to offer. Let's not forget the award she won recently from Interior Design magazine as "Best of the Year" for contract wallcovering. Such inspiritation!
